From July 23 to 26, 2024, SZTU and the Chinese Overseas Transportation Association (COTA) jointly heldthe 24th COTA International Conference of Transportation Professionals (CICTP 2024) in Shenzhen. The conference was supported by the American Society of Civil Engineers and the American Transportation Research Association, and co organized by 15 units including the World Bank, Shenzhen University, and the China Highway Society. The conference, with the theme of "Resilient, Intelligent, Interconnected, and Low Carbon Multimodal Transportation," attracted over 1000 experts, scholars, leaders, and business representatives from around the world to discuss the latest developments and future trends in the field of transportation technology, focusing on hot topics such as "Unmanned Transportation Systems and Testing Technologies", "Data Driven Intelligent Transportation Systems", "Digitization and Intelligence Technologies for Integrated Transportation Systems", "Optimization Management of Shared Mobility Systems" and "Open ITS: Data, Scenarios, Benchmarks ".
SZTU’s Party Chief Zhang Jihong, on behalf of all teachers and students, warmly welcomes the guests who have come from afar, and expresses sincere gratitude to all units and individuals from all who have given strong support to this conference. Zhang Jihong pointed out that the CICTP, as an important event in the global transportation technology field, has been successfully held for 23 sessions. At the opening ceremony, the 2024 COTA Lifetime Achievement Award ceremony was held to recognize Professor Wu Bing from Tongji University for his outstanding contributions in the field of transportation technology.

In addition to setting up the keynote speech, this conference also had 4 focus forums, 16 invited forums, 9 technical forums, 6 academic poster exchanges, as well as a series of special events such as the 2024 National Forum for Dean of Transportation College, Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Youth Forum, the first Female Transportation Scientists Forum, and the World Bank Forum, providing participants with a rich learning and exchange platform.
